Well, we joked about how our parents would throw us in the river while trying to teach us how to swim. This dad did it, and is behind bars.
37-year-old John Bloodsworth threw his son into the ocean and then did backflips off a nearby pier while the young boy struggled to keep his head above water. There were no lifeguards in the area, but witnesses called the police. Bloodsworth, who was intoxicated, insisted that he'd done nothing wrong and was simply teaching the boy how to swim. He then told cops he was “going to jail for being awesome.”
Police pulled the terrified boy from the water and turned him over to his mother. Bloodsworth was charged with child abuse, disorderly intoxication and swimming within 300 feet of the pier. (Fox News)
