FestivalSouth® opens its 10th anniversary season with Broadway’s singing, dancing, feel-good musicalSister Act. Presented by Forrest Country in partnership with Bryan Nelson, with support from Clyde Bryant of State Farm and Forrest General’s Spirit of Women, it is based on the 1992 film and featuring original music by Tony- and eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors). This uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Produced by The Hub City Players, Hattiesburg’s professional theatre company,Sister Actis filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story. The production opens June 6 and runs through the opening night of FestivalSouth, June 8 in the Mannoni Performing Arts Center Auditorium on the Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus.
