Dolly Parton Pushes Her Las Vegas Residency Back Amid 'Health Challenges'

Dolly Parton rescheduled her upcoming Las Vegas shows to focus on her health, the country legend confirmed in a statement on Sunday (September 28).

Parton, 79, announced over the summer that she would play her first Vegas headlining in more than three decades. The limited-run engagement, titled Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, was set to take place this December at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member shared in her new statement that the shows will be pushed back to next year.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton shared. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

Parton also shared a list of new Live in Las Vegas performance dates:

• Thursday, December 4, 2025 to Thursday, September 17, 2026
• Saturday, December 6, 2025 to Saturday, September 19, 2026
• Sunday, December 7, 2025 to Sunday, September 20, 2026
• Wednesday, December 10, 2025 to Wednesday, September 23, 2026
• Friday, December 12, 2025 to Friday, September 25, 2026
• Saturday, December 13, 2025 to Saturday, September 26, 2026

Parton noted that tickers are valid for the new performance dates, and refunds will be available. Additional information will be sent to ticket holders via email. The beloved country star’s announcement arrives shortly after she recorded a video to explain why she had to miss a Dollywood event earlier this morn. Parton said at that time that she’d “had a little problem,” and was unable to travel to Dollywood from Nashville. Parton shared that she’d “had a kidney stone,” which had “given me an infection,” and her doctor advised her not to travel. She said she’s “there with you in spirit,” and “I’ll be back just as quick as I can. Don’t worry about me I’m gonna be OK.”
