Sarahbeth Taite is a mother of two!
The rising country singer-songwriter and former American Idol contestant welcomed Baby No. 2 with her husband, Colby Shaw. Taite shared a precious photo of her newborn daughter on her Instagram story on Sunday morning (January 19). The mother of two confirmed âsheâs here,â and said sheâs âsoaking up every second with her.â The birth announcement quickly follows the glimpse of the baby's cozy nursery, which Taite shared on Instagram on the final day of her pregnancy earlier this week. Baby No. 2, whose name was not publicly shared as of publication time, joins big sister Isla, 2.
Taite shared photos by photographer Krista Johnson over the summer to announce her pregnancy: âHere we go again!!! đ€ we canât wait to meet you, baby. See you in January đŒâ Taite is one of several country artists to welcome a baby into the family in 2025. Others include Dan + Shay star Shay Mooney, Loretta Lynnâs granddaughter Emmy Russell, and more. See the list of pregnancy announcements here.
Taite, 27, spoke about her pregnancy when she caught up with iHeartCountry on the 2024 Peopleâs Choice Country Awards in September. The second annual event took place at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, where Taite made her official debut in October. Taite opted for a stunning, âsimple and classicâ black gown as she walked the red carpet with her growing baby bump. She shared that her family life has âinspired me the mostâ when it comes to writing music, including her latest 5-track EP, The Way We Started. Taite said âto get to release it at the same time that I have another baby on the way is just, like, all the good things happening all at once.â
Taite, a lifelong singer whose passion for storytelling through songwriting took off in middle school, said sheâs come a long way since she packed her bags and moved to Nashville when she was 17 years old. She said her decade-long journey in Music City has marked an era of growth and success, including within her growing family. Taite hinted that after welcoming Baby No. 2, she would shift her attention to new music again in 2025.
âI would just tell her, get ready. Strap in because itâs gonna be a longer ride than you think,â Taite said when asked the advice she would give to her younger self. âI just thought I would get here, and everything would happen overnight. (There are) so many successes along the way, but thereâs also so many disappointments and things that take longer than you think. Iâve just kind of redefined âsuccessâ every year, all these years.
âAnd now, success mostly is the fact that I have this beautiful family and I get to go home to them, and the rest is just icing on the cake.â
