MS ranks near the bottom of yet another list.

MS is in the bottom five on a new list of the best places to raise a child.The Annie E. Casey Foundation Kids Count report ranks factors like quality of education and the number of children who lack health coverage. They ranked New Hampshire as the best place to raise a child.

Mississippi State and Vanderbilt face off today at the College World Series in Omaha. Both opened bracket play with wins on Sunday. The Commodores beat the Bulldogs 1-0 in the SEC Tournament last month. The two sides did not meet in the regular season. Also today in an elimination game for bracket two, Louisville battles Auburn.

Travel to Alabama and Georgia might be banned for another California city over the states' anti-abortion laws. The Long Beach City Council is set to vote today on a measure that would suspend all official travel and contracts with Alabama and Georgia. Long Beach would be the second California municipality to officially denounce the laws.

What do you think is America’s favorite vegetable? According to a new survey by VeggieTracker.com, corn is king. 91.4% of survey respondents said corn was their favorite vegetable. Potatoes were close behind, with 91.2% picking potatoes as their favorite vegetable. Carrots and tomatoes tied for third at 89%.

And get this … 25% of those surveyed said they’ve NEVER eaten a vegetable. And of those who do eat vegetables, only 36% of their meals actually have a vegetable as part of it.

The survey also found that 72% of Americans say they wish they ate more veggies than they do.

A new study shows living near medical marijuana shops with storefront signs often leads to higher pot use. The RAND Corporation study in Los Angeles County found that living near marijuana dispensaries often leads to more positive perceptions of cannabis. The researchers think their work could be useful for policy makers who are looking at regulating pot shops.

This stinks … Seems a lot of young adults aren’t concerned about B.O. A new poll by YouGov found that almost 40% of 18- to 24-year-olds said they hadn’t used deodorant or antiperspirant in the last month. 31% of those 25 to 34 said they hadn’t used deodorant or antiperspirant in the past 30 days. 22% of those 35 to 44 said they hadn’t used either in the last month. And just 16% of 45- to 54-year-olds said they hadn’t used deodorant in the last 30 days.
