Ernie is a very sweet and timid 6.5 year old chihuahua. When he first came to HSSM he had recently been bitten by another animal. He had a deep puncture wound that we treated. Because of whatever trauma and neglect he has been through, Ernie needs time to transition to a new home. He was recently adopted but they brought him back because he was "not adjusting". If dogs like Ernie aren't given the time and attention they need, they will not adjust well. Ernie is a special dog needing a special home that understands that not all dogs are the same and some dogs need more patience than others. If you're looking for a loyal lap dog, Ernie is your guy!!
