Do you still eat this? (classic American dishes we no longer cook.)

Suzi and I have been cooking a TON over the past few months but with the exception of Sloppy Joes and some Rice Pudding, I haven't had some of these other dishes in years! According to Eat This, Not That, hardly anyone eats or cooks these seven classic American dishes anymore. When was the last time, if ever, you had these?!

·Ambrosia Salad: Once popular in the South, this "salad" is typically marshmallows, shredded coconut, canned pineapple and mandarin oranges combined with either sour cream, Cool Whip, or mayonnaise.

·Chicken Cordon Bleu: This breaded chicken breast stuffed with ham and swiss cheese is rarely seen on menus these days.

·Tuna Casserole: Casseroles in general are less popular these days. This one -- with canned tuna, egg noodles, canned cream soup, breadcrumbs and maybe some frozen peas – was popular in the '50s.

·Turkey Tetrazzini: This creamy pasta with turkey, vegetables and breadcrumbs was basically a casserole for Thanksgiving leftovers.

·Creamed Chipped Beef: Dried beef reconstituted with thick gravy and served on white toast was once a diner staple.

·Sloppy Joes: This saucy ground beef on a hamburger bun sandwich was a school lunch favorite in the ‘70s and ‘80s.

·Rice and Tapioca Pudding: These desserts were hugely popular and seen in every diner before the 1990s.
