We've heard it before and now Mississippi is drawing yet another dire report on obesity in the state. A just-released national study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation finds that just over 37 percent of the adult population in the Magnolia State suffers from obesity. Mississippi is said to be the second most obese state in the U.S. with neighboring Louisiana ranked sixth. The report notes that just over 42 percent of adults between the ages of 45 and 64 in Mississippi are considered obese.
