TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Ample moisture combined with weak upper level disturbances moving across the northern Florida peninsula and the sea breeze circulations is the perfect recipe Friday for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across the region.

Heavy rain, lightning, and thunder is popping up all over the Bay area.

These thunderstorms are capable of producing strong gusty winds, locally heavy rains, and frequent deadly lightning strikes as they move to the east around 10 mph.

Some rain may be heavy enough to create some minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas as well as the ponding of water on roadways
