Listen to Loretta Lynn on iHeartRadio

Country legend Loretta Lynn was among a group of distinguished honorees at the White House Wednesday.  President Obama presented Lynn with the Presidential Medal Of Freedom for her contributions to the soundtrack of America.

Lynn was one of 16 individuals who received the award.  Other honorees included Oprah Winfrey, baseball great Ernie Banks, former President Bill Clinton, and late astronaut Sally Ride.

The Presidential Medal Of Freedom is the nation's highest civilian honor, and is presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to world peace, or to the security, cultural, or national interest of the nation.
